Video Transcribed: What is a plea deal or a plea bargain or a deal? I am Stuart Ericson, I am an attorney in Wagoner. So once the criminal case begins and you’ve had your initial appearance and you’re either set for a misdemeanor disposition docket or a preliminary hearing, the district attorney’s office will extend a plea bargain offer to the attorney, to me, for you to consider.

Wagoner AttorneyOf course, those plea bargain offers could be good. They could be bad. They could be for prison time. They could be for probation where you’re not going to go to prison but are going to be on probation.

It’s the attorney’s responsibility to give that plea bargain offer to you. You have to be able to consider it because it will be your choice. As your attorney, I would discuss with you the pros and the cons of the plea offer because criminal cases are only going to end in three ways: a dismissal hopefully, a plea bargain, or a jury trial.

Those are the three ways a case will end. So that is something that we would definitely discuss. If you need my help, reach out to wagnerlawyer.com and ask for Stuart Ericson, I am the Wagoner Criminal Defense Attorney.
